Pyinsa Mukha Marazain Pagoda
Pyinsa Mukha Marazain Pagoda lies in Hinthada in
Ayeyarwady Division. It was built by mayor U Pu and
wife Daw Phyu, parents of Princess Linban, the queen
in the reign of Bodaw (Padon King), in the year
1177, enshrining many diamond statues, emerald
statues and 2015 relics.
The pagoda has a base each side extending 48
cubits and has a height of 70 cubits. It was given
the name to signify Buddha's victory of five prides
and the prophesy of five Buddhas gaining
Enlightenment in this Badda world. It was on the
bank of Ayeyarwady River and it nearly got eroded in
1247. Towns people of Hinthada therefore moved it to
the present place on Thursday, the 7th waxing moon
day of Tabodwe 1249 and rebuilt to a height of 75
cubits. |
