Shin Boh Mai Phaya

Shin Boh Mai Paya was built by Queen Shin Boh Mai of the Kingdom of Inn-wa in Sakarit 792 at what was then called Katiya top. The queen was also known as Saw Boh Mai. It was first known as Katiya Shin Boh Mai Phaya but later known only as Shin Bo Mai Phaya. After 429 years thence, Mandalay Palace was built in 1221. Thus it came to be on 84th Street, between 29th and 30th Streets (in front of Yadanabon Press). The place was so serene with architectures of tazaungs large and small. It also had reflections of real gold robes from the phaya. It was one among the famous pagodas of Mandalay.
