U Khanti Maha Myat Muni Wish-granting Pagoda

U Khanti Pagoda lies in the grand tazaung between Aung Naing Gon Pagoda and the south Zina Manaung Pagoda, at the (highest) central portion of Naga Witha Range that has the shape of a serpant east of Mawlamyine. It was built by Hermit U Khanti of Mandalay Hill, at the sponsorship of U Ah Khoi-Daw Maw Nwi, Longchai Pulse Oil Miller of Mawlamyine. U Khanti had the head cast in bronze and the body cast in iron in Mandalay just like Mandalay Maha Myat Muni, and placed in Mawlamyine in glass container. The casting was completed on the full-moon day of Kason 1297. The image is 19 feet from the base to the top, 12 feet from the left to the right, with the whole image covered in glass casing.
