Yadana Myintzu Pagoda

Yadana Myintzu Pagoda was built in 840 by Yadanapura Inn-wa King Pyinson Min Thihathura and Queen Ameitta Thiri Dewi. It lies in Minde Eikin ward west township, now Aungmyethazan of Mandalay. It is one of the oldest in Mandalay. The king and queen repaired old pagodas after the barge got to Chaungpauk Village on Ayeyawady River, with all military parades. It was in tribute to one of them that the pagoda was built there. It was built with five pyitsayars. the first three of brick, the fourth and the fifth being glass mosaic. In the north are two footprints of Buddha and ancient Buddha images. It has a height of 49 cubits.
