and the south connected to the Andaman Sea. Diving
in the seas of Myanmar would dive you a great

dive instructors, snorkeling sets and dive
equipments for observing the deep water lives,
varieties of sea fishes and coral reef of Myanmar.
Diving at Ngwe Saung Beach
Diving trips take at least about 4 days. Ngwe
Saung Beach is about km from Yangon and can be
reached within 7 hours drive. Ngwe Saung Beach is
located on coast of the Bay of Bengal. The beach
stretches with coconut palm trees and beautiful
scenes. Rooms at International Resorts and local
hotels are available. From the hotels, one has to go
to the jetty by chartered boat. The diving master
instructor with his team will be mastered for the
exploration of the deep sea.
At Ngwe Saung Beach, one can find varieties of
sea fishes, marine plants and also the coral reef.
There are rare species like Sea Urchin or the Iron
Trap. Also there are underwater caves which can be
very attractive to the divers.
The diving sites in Ngwe Saung are Birds Island
and White Rock Island.
Diving at Myeik - Mergui Archipelagos
The Myeik Archipelago or the Mergui Archipelago
is located at the southern part of Myanmar in the
Tanintharyi Division. It consists of over 800 remote
islands in the Andaman Sea. All the islands compose
a total of 3600 square kilometers. Many islands
still remain unexplored till today. The inhabitants
of these regions are the Salone people or the Sea
Gypsies of the Moken. They live in the sea and live
on boats. They are the only people who can survive
in this region. Other than the Salones, there are
still many underwater untouched reefs to explore in
the seas of Myanmar.
Diving sites in Myeik Archipelago are Black Rock,
Burma Bank, Western Rocky, North Twin Island, Three
Islet and Shark Cave. The water is aqua blue and
very clear. A variety of crabs, shrimps, spindle
cowries, filament wrasse, maray eels, Sharks, Rays
and nadibranchs can be found.
Dive Training
Program To assist the diving trips arranged by
the tour operators, there are Diving Training
Programs to get prepared before going into the seas
of Myanmar. Tour operators offer an extensive range
of diving courses from Introduction dives to final
dives with the help of emergency response
instructors and other staff instructors. Only those
who are older than 12 years are allowed to take part
in this training program. The courses take about a
week for beginners.
Snorkelling and Skin Diving Program
The Snorkelling and Diving Program allows those
who want explore the beautiful under water with mask
snorkel and fin only, learn how to clear water from
the snorkel and swim with fins, learn how to
hyperventilation technique when breath holding dive.
Scuba Diving
There are scuba programs which allow those who
have never tried it to safely experience the thrill
of scuba diving in our pool.
Precautions & preparations
- There are some precautions and preparations
that should be taken before diving, whether you
are experienced or a beginner.
- Never go diving too soon after or before
flying. The change in atmospheric pressure can
cause problems to the divers.
- Never dive after a heavy meal. The blood
flows to the stomach to aid digestion and may
cause cramp.
- Never consume alcohol before diving.
- Always follow safety procedures as advised
by the instructor.
- Never go diving alone.
- If a diver has experience but has not been
diving for a while, one should take a quick
refresher course on procedures, safety and
practices.
- Read as much as possible about the
destination and place you are going to dive.
