River Cruises

Yangon to Pathein and Pathein to Yangon Cruises

The cruises from Yangon to Pathein take about 18 hours. There is time adverse and uncertain to the river, weather and local conditions. The cruises are arranged by Myanmar River Cruises.

Mandalay to Bagan and Bagan to Mandalay

Ayeyarwaddy Expedition

The cruises leave at Gawwin Jetty in Mandalay and travel upstream to reach Bagan. On the way to its destination passes Mingun and Sagaing. The cruises travel on the Mighty Ayeyarwaddy.

It takes about 2 hours to reach Mingun. It takes about another 2 hours from Mingun to Sagaing. Mingun and Sagaing are also the main places of Myanmar Culture. Then the cruise takes about one night to reach Bagan. With the sunrise of Bagan the cruise reaches the destination. It stops at Shwekunchar jetty in Bagan.

During the whole journey, there are deck performances of Myanmar Traditional Dances and Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea, Coffee, Water are supplied. There are also stops and visits at popular places.

The way back to Mandalay also takes the same route as the way to Bagan.

Chindwin Exploration

Travelling through the Chindwin River is also another amazing experience in Myanmar. The journey starts from Mandalay and ends at Bagan. The journey passes Monywa, Mingun, Kalewa, Mawlaik, Pakhan-gyi, Pakkoku and finally Bagan. Popular places such as Pho Win Taung, Shweba Taung, Kanee, Kyidaw, and Mawlaik are visited on its way.

The Irrawady Flottila has been arranging Mekong River Cruises. The Mekong River passes Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar and the cruises are arrange to meet every touch of the countries and their different cultural heritage.
