Muse, a small town on the banks of the Shweli River, is the main border gateway between Myanmar and Yunnan Province (China). Shan State can be divided into Northern Shan State, Southern Shan State and Eastern Shan State. Lashio is the capital of Northern Shan State and Muse is 112 miles (179 km) north of Lashio, border town adjacent to China.
